Maxxus Infrared Saunas – The Affordable Alternative

Maxxus Infrared Saunas provide all of the healing benefits of infrared technology incorporated into sleek, sturdy units made from either Canadian Hemlock or Canadian Red Cedar. The result are saunas that are both attractive and functional at a price that is more affordable than most of the higher end brands.

Maxxus is just one of several sauna lines from Golden Design, Inc. Their other lines include GD Saunas, Dynamic Saunas, GD Traditional Saunas and GD Outdoor Traditional and Hybrid Saunas.

All of Golden Design’s products use Canadian Hemlock or Cedar and incorporate unique features including color therapy lighting, floor-feet reflexology heaters and built-in Bluetooth and MP3 auxiliary connections.

The GD Sauna line also features several models that incorporate a Himalayan Salt Bar for added therapeutic benefit as well as aesthetic beauty.

Since 2008 Golden Design has become North America’s largest supplier of Infrared Saunas. They are currently based in Ontario, California and their saunas are carried by a number of retailers throughout the U.S. and Canada, including Costco and Wayfair.

Let's take a closer look at Maxxus Infrared Saunas to see what they are all about...

The Current Maxxus Lineup

Maxxus Infrared Saunas are available in a range of models, designed to house from 1-4 people. The saunas are divided into three basic categories: Low EMF Far Infrared, Near Zero Far Infrared and Full Spectrum, which incorporates Near, Mid and Far Infrared.

This is a key selling point for these saunas as the lower the EMF the safer the sauna and Golden Design prides itself in offering only Low or Near Zero EMF levels for the safest possible sauna experience.

All of the Maxxus Infrared Saunas are made from either Canadian Hemlock or Canadian Red Cedar and are made with sleek, attractive designs that fit into any home or outdoor space.

They are equipped with tempered glass doors and 2 full length side windows, standard floor-foot reflexology heating, interior color therapy lighting, a roof vent, interior/exterior LED control panels and MP3 Aux connection with 2 dynamic speakers with pre-amp.  Each requires 110V electrical service.

Low EMF FAR Infrared Saunas

Included in the Low EMF Far Infrared Sauna line are 10 different models, including two corner models.

The Seattle, Bellevue, MX-K206-01, K306-01, K356-01 and K406-01 all feature Carbon Tech Low EMF Far Infrared heaters, while the Aspen, Alpine, Serenity and Trinity are all Dual Tech, with a combination of Ceramic and Carbon Tech heating panels.

The Seattle and Bellevue models are the only ones that do not include interior color therapy lighting, though they do have a standard interior reading light.

Near Zero EMF FAR Infrared Saunas

In the Near Zero EMF line there are models made from Canadian Hemlock in sizes ranging from 2-4 person, as well as a 3 person corner model.  Also available in Near Zero are the Cholet Edition, Montilemar Edition, Avignon Edition (a corner model) and Chaumont Edition, all in Canadian Red Cedar. These all feature Carbon PureTech Near Zero EMF Heat Emitters.

The Near Zero models all have FM Radio with BT, MP3 auxiliary, SD and USB connection.

Full Spectrum Infrared Saunas

There are two Full Spectrum models, a 2 person and a 3 person. Both use a combination of NEAR, MID and FAR Infrared wavelengths to maximize the health benefits.  FAR Infrared  penetrates deepest into the body, reaching the fatty tissue and activating sweat glands, while MID Infrared helps to increase blood flow and circulation and reduce muscle and joint pain.  NEAR infrared penetrates the epidermis layer of the skin to improve cell health, renew skin, promote tissue growth and reduce inflammation.

The Full Spectrum models combine Carbon PureTech Near Zero EMF Heat Emitters and Near Infrared PureTech Heat Emitters to achieve the full spectrum of infrared wavelengths.

The Pros

While these are a step down from some of the top tier brands, Maxxus Infrared Saunas still have plenty of positive points going for them. Primary among these, as mentioned above, is their reliance on Low or Near Zero EMF Infrared to give you the most benefit while maintaining strict safety standards.

The design of Maxxus Saunas is eye catching, with sleek lines, tempered glass and built-in wooden slats to cover the heating elements for comfort and safety.  Some models feature exterior adjustable lighting which is a nice added bonus.

The Chromotherapy interior lighting is a nice touch as well, providing yet another therapeutic benefit as the light automatically cycles through a variety of colors to help adjust body vibrations to frequencies that enhance health and harmony.

The use of Canadian Red Cedar in some models also adds a bit of aromatherapy with its pleasant natural scent.

As with Golden Designs’ other lines, Maxxus Infrared Saunas are easy to find at many retailers and their prices tend to be more affordable than higher end models, making them a great choice for budget minded customers.

The Cons

With affordability there are often issues to be expected and that is certainly the case for Maxxus Infrared Saunas.  The primary issue is that they come with a European style plug, requiring the installation of a corresponding outlet, which can drive up overall cost.

Also, the sizing can be deceptive as these saunas tend to run small, making them a snug fit. While “two”, “three” or “four” users may sound roomy enough, there isn’t as much room to move around as you’d expect so you’ll want to take that into consideration when deciding on a size to order.

The included sound system can also be an issue as all of the controls are inside the sauna and that is not necessarily a friendly environment for phones or iphones.

Finally, while they offer a wide range of models, delivery time can be exceptionally slow, which is a bit frustrating.

The Bottom Line on Maxxus

Golden Designs Inc. has earned a reputation as a prime supplier of Infrared Saunas and they certainly deliver on their promise with a wide range of saunas available at many popular retailers.

The Maxxus Infrared Sauna line easily stands up to any of their other offerings, with beautiful looks and great features at affordable prices. With easy to assemble pieces, you can have your sauna up and running in no time and there are plenty of comfort features that will let every member of the family enjoy their sauna experience.

If you’re looking to experience the many health benefits of Low and Near Zero Infrared saunas but don’t want to break the bank, Maxxus Infrared Saunas can be a great option, just don’t expect to get high end quality at this price level.
